Igniting Efficiency: The Clay County, FL PowerApps Vehicle Inspection Triumph
March 25 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

Update your Vehicle Inspections! The Clay County, FL PowerApps Vehicle Inspection Program for Public Safety / Fire & Rescue / Information Technology replaces a decades-old paper system used daily by firefighter/engineer/driver operators for nearly 100-point inspections on 30 frontline fire and rescue apparatus. The old system also involved phone, and redundant web entries for issues, with no data stored in any database for analysis or trend identification. This program is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Fire/Rescue department’s vehicle inspection process.
Key Benefits:
- Increased mileage accuracy with the county public works fuel system.
- Ability to track and trend issues with specific apparatus and/or other vehicle types.
- Enhanced accountability between admin chiefs, field chiefs, and field crews for daily completion.
- New capability to track unit/vehicle use for repairs and maintenance.
Future Plans:
- Review new add-ons that allow fire mechanics to document maintenance/repair back to the field
- Inspect specific vehicle items/tools like self-contained breathing apparatus (multi-point daily NFPA inspection).
- Interface repair issues directly to government fleet maintenance software.
