DUG LinkedIn Sharing Tool Privacy Policy

Dynamics User Group (“DUG,” “we,” or “us”) offers a LinkedIn sharing tool that helps attendees, speakers, sponsors, and other members of the DUG community create and share posts about DUG events. This policy explains how we handle information when you use the tool.

Information we receive

When you connect your LinkedIn account, LinkedIn may provide information needed to identify your account and enable the features you choose. This may include your name, LinkedIn account identifier, profile information, and information about company pages you are authorized to manage if company page posting is available.

We also process the post text you review or edit, the event graphic you select, and technical information needed to operate and troubleshoot the tool. We do not receive your LinkedIn password.

How we use information

We use this information to connect your LinkedIn account, present available posting options, prepare your selected event post, carry out your publishing request, maintain the tool, and respond to questions about it.

Connecting your account does not publish a post. You can review and edit the suggested text before choosing to publish.

Company page posting

If company page posting is available and you choose to use it, LinkedIn determines which pages you are authorized to manage. The tool uses that authorization to publish from the page you select after you approve the post. Using this feature does not give DUG ownership or administrative control of your company page.

Sharing with LinkedIn and service providers

When you choose to publish, the approved post content and selected image are sent to LinkedIn. Posts published there are subject to LinkedIn’s settings and Privacy Policy.

We may use service providers to host, maintain, and secure the tool. They may process information on our behalf as needed to provide those services. We do not sell information obtained through the sharing tool.

How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed to operate the tool, maintain its security, respond to requests, or meet applicable obligations. Retention periods may vary by type of information.

A post already published on LinkedIn may remain visible there after you stop using the tool. You can manage that post through LinkedIn.

Your choices

You can choose whether to connect your LinkedIn account, which available account or page to post from, and whether to publish. You can review and edit suggested text before posting.

You can revoke the tool’s access through your LinkedIn account settings. To ask about information DUG holds through the tool or request its deletion, email info@dynamicsusergroup.com. Revoking access or requesting deletion from DUG does not automatically remove posts already published on LinkedIn.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information processed by the tool. No online service can guarantee absolute security. If you believe there is a security issue involving the tool, contact info@dynamicsusergroup.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the tool changes. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the date above.
